BE THE BEST YOU BECAUSE THERE IS NO OTHER YOU



   It is not easy being the "not so cool girl" who doesn't have many friend, it is not easy being "just that girl" who is barely noticed, not is easy being the girl always "caught unfresh". The girl whose followers on her social media platforms is not something to brag about, the girl with the weird smile, the stiff body, no dance moves , the worst of all "ACNE AND PIMPLES ALL OVER HER FACE" and other possibly negative things you can think about.

I realized it is not all that that matters, don't envy peoples lives because you don't know what they are going through, no ones life is perfect , just forget all the perfect lives you see on Instagram, some just slay for the gram meanwhile they are going through hell or they are going through the wrong means. Everyone got their problems and the faster you start realize you have to start making lemonades with the lemons life has thrown at you, the better for you.

I am who I am because of whom I have chosen to be,
I have chosen to be Beautiful,
I have chosen to be real,
I have accepted me for me,
and I hope you do the same,
I have accepted all my oddities😁
I love me because there is no other me,
I am specially and wonderfully created in the image and likeness of my creator
I am UNIQUE,
I AM ME NOT JUST ME BUT THE BEST ME,
IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT , DEAL WITH IT.

THE GIRL THAT DOESN'T FIT IN

Sigh. Ever wondered what it feels like to be judged? Your every move, every word, every thing you do? It sucks that's what it feels like !. Most of the time, we let those words get to us and make us feel worthless and unwanted. I've been judged by my color, my hair, my physical appearances and the way i behave and every time, I let those words bring me down. When I look at the mirror I see someone different. "Shes not me" I tell my self. "She can never be me". I have imperfections, scars, stretch marks and many other things i can't even utter. But this girl in the mirror is perfect despite all her imperfections.  She doesn't let those words get to her like I do. She doesn't feel worthless like I  do. She doesn't go through half of the things I go through, I think. If there is one thing I've learnt from her, is that everybody has flaws. Even the most perfect girls and guys have something to hide. Something their not happy about. So why on earth do they make others feel worthless about themselves. Why do they take pride in hurting others.  They make it seem like the number of followers you have on Instagram and Snapchat is what's more  important. My friend I  tell you, that is absolutely wrong.  Be yourself because there can  be nobody else be like you. Be proud of yourself because nobody can fit your position. And if there is a lesson I learnt from the girl in the mirror, is to LOVE MYSELF BECAUSE NOBODY CAN BE ME. And nobody can be you either. If they throw harsh words at you, be brave enough to tell them "at least I   am not pretending to be someone else". Be proud of you because I am proud of you too.

SOME DAYS AFTER FATHER'S DAY

I would have written this piece on Father's Day but I didn't want to be selfish. I didn't want to turn a happy occasion to a sad one. So I'll write it today, some days after Father's Day. I don't think I was ever told what death was. Not even now. No one ever sat with me to have that "talk", the one that tries to soften the tough blow reality has dealt you. I just… knew. And i knew pretty young too. Like they say, experience is the best teacher. Unfortunately, this was a lesson it handed me too early, in my honest opinion. Today, a lot of people are quick to judge others who undergo cosmetic surgeries, especially in Africa, but are not quick to remember the snide remarks made to such individuals in the past about their bodies. Rome wasn't built in a day; decisions like these are most likely the result of negative comments they have heard over the years. Many of our parents try to understand where our insecurities stem from, forgetting they were the first to make "harmless" jokes or comments about our bodies or looks as children. Sadly, some of our first bullies were the adults in our lives—parents, teachers, and others who were entrusted to build our confidence.
