PEPPER SENT ME TO THE ER

 It was the eve of  2021 and my uncle had thrown a party. Although I had previously had two surgeries  about a month before and was still recovering. I was super excited,  suddenly felt strong enough and forgot I wasn't fully healed and my ulcer had worsened after surgery.

That night, I saw suya swimming in pepper and although I knew I wasn't supposed to, something was pushing me, you can call it "village people". So when I saw my cousin eating suya, I stole his last piece and chewed it as fast as possible. By the time he was telling me to spit out, the meat had already gotten to my stomach and I smiled  thinking I had gotten away with my little mischief. 

I thought I could cheat nature, I quickly went to take all my ulcer medication that I was giving from my previous attack which was on Christmas Eve. At exactly five minutes to 2021, my stomach began to give me signs. I prayed that it couldn't be what I thought but I remembered "heaven helps those who help themselves" and I had sadly refused to help myself . I tried to sleep it off,  no way, I took more antacids, no way either and I was too scared to tell my mum because I was the cause of my  problem but when the pain intensified I had to.

Let's just say all I remember from that particular New year's day was that it was spent in pain in the hospital with a lot of intravenous medication and that I almost met my creator but for the prayers of my family members. It was a real nightmare but have I learnt?? I'll leave you to your imagination. 

To all ulcer patients out there the lord is our strength because I haven't seen people as adamant as those with ulcer.
